A 1940s Evening of Frolic

Sat, August 22, 2026

Join us for a 1940s Evening of Frolic: A Memory Lane Heritage Village fundraiser

Don your best 1940s frock, or stay comfy in lawn whites while you swing the croquet mallet and join us for a summer party fundraiser on the lawn at Memory Lane Heritage Village.

This event is a fundraiser put on by our dedicated volunteers.

Whatever the attire, you’ll be sure to enjoy this Evening of Frolic. Enjoy lawn games, cocktails, live music from the Breeze Street Jazz Band, staged photo booths and some small bites while the sun sets over Memory Lane Heritage Village. Dress up in 1940s style to win some prizes, or come as you are!

Dance the evening away with your mate, your gal, your pal, or your fella and let the August night take you back to those summer evenings of fire flies and community dances.

Live Music Performance

The evening will feature a live music performance by Breeze Street Jazz

Breeze Street Jazz is a group of ten adult jazz and jazz improv students, plus their professional director, Jeff Goodspeed, who have been playing together for a decade. The group will play two sets, one of jazz concert material, plus a second of dance tunes from the forties and early fifties. Songs styles include swing, latin, and bossa nova. Some recognizable names are 'Fly Me to the Moon', 'Don't Get Around Much Anymore', 'All of Me' and 'Satin Doll'.

This will be the first public event for Breeze Street Jazz, and is donated in support of Memory Lane and the special people who keep it operating during challenging financial times.
