Volunteers are the life force of the Heritage Society. The Society is directed by a group of dedicated volunteers, and in every facet of the Heritage Society's work, volunteers are critical. We have volunteering opportunities for anyone wanting to make a positive contribution to our community and heritage work. Animators, gardeners, cooks, historical research, archiving, guiding, computer work, special events, etc. There are opportunities for everyone and we especially encourage youth to volunteer with us. Please fill out the attached volunteer availability form and email or drop it by. We will be thankful and ready to help you join the Heritage Society volunteers.
Our volunteers are rewarded in several ways. Volunteering for 10 hours within the year, brings a free Membership Card which allows you to enter the Heritage Village free of charge throughout the year (and half price on special event days). Each Autumn, volunteers are treated to a Volunteer Supper in the Cookhouse. Furthermore, animators or other volunteers who volunteer for 4 hours in one day are given a free Cookhouse Chow on the day they work.
