The Cookhouse is the heart of the Heritage Village. It's a place where visitors, volunteers and staff connect to each other and enjoy the camaraderie that good food inspires. The Head Cook is both a Cook and a Host, overseeing a crew of capable volunteer “peelers” and kitchen helpers, summer students and assistant cook.
Terms of Employment: $20 to $25/hr depending on level of experience and subject to increase after agreed upon trial period. Work term is typically from mid May to the first week of October, with some weekend events afterwards. Guaranteed 750 hours within the season.

During the summer months the archives sees an increase in research requests as well as donations of material. It will be the Assistant Archivist’s duty to oversee research requests and carry out research on the various collections that the archives is working on.

The Heritage Programming Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director and Senior Staff and Volunteers to create 1940s programming for special events, tours, school field trips, as well as assist with a youth volunteer program in partnership with other community stakeholders. This position is also the main coordinator for the Villages’ 100+ volunteers, who provide assistance with animation and guiding, along with many other day to day operations.

The Junior Visitor Services Assistant is an entry-level position, suitable for high school students. The Junior Animator assists senior staff and volunteers. This is a front-line position, which will allow students to gain valuable experience in communications, planning, coordination, business and visitor and food services.
Terms of Employment: July 1st to August 31st, between 30 and 35 hours per week at $16.75 per hour + 4% vacation pay + free cookhouse lunch. Opportunity to work before and after the work-term on weekends and school holidays.

The Bilingual Visitor Services Assistant plays a key role at Memory Lane Heritage Village by providing French language services to visitors and as a support person to senior staff and volunteers. This is a front-line position, which will allow students to gain valuable experience in bilingual communications, planning, coordination, visitor services.
Terms of Employment: Twelve to fourteen weeks at 37.5 hrs. / week at $16.75 per hour + 4% vacation pay + free cookhouse lunch. Students living more than 100km from the job site are eligible for additional hourly wage subsidy to assist with travel costs. Additional funds are also available to assist with moving to the area for the summer. Students must be enrolled in full time studies prior to, and after, the work-term and be under the age of 30 (proof required).
