In 2009 the Heritage Society launched the Eastern Shore Heritage Preservation Fund campaign to establish an endowment fund held and managed by the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia, who provide donors with expert, up-to-date advice on all tax matters so that you receive all the tax benefits to which you are entitled. The goal of this fund is to to preserve in perpetuity the heritage of the Eastern Shore from Lawrencetown to Ecum Secum. If you have an interest in the Eastern Shore, whether as a resident, a visitor, or one of the many thousands living elsewhere with Eastern Shore roots, please consider making a donation.
A cash donation can be a one-time donation or a pre-arranged number of donations over a period of time. For these kinds of donations the donor receives a charitable gift tax receipt for the year in which the donation is made. There are several ways to donate cash:
One-time cash donations of up to $500, or a repeating donation deducted from your credit card, can be made online using Canada Helps. Canada Helps is a charitable organization that provides online donation services to over 12,000 Canadian charities. It is safe, secure and simple to use. Donations are instantly tax receipted by Canada Helps, thus reducing administration costs to the Society. There is also a monthly installment option on Canada Helps.
