Every Thursday, at 7 PM in the Clam Factory, local history experts and enthusiasts will present a ½ hour illustrated “talk” on a local history topic followed by a brief Q&A. Bar service will be available for those who wish to enjoy a spirited beverage along with their history lesson.
There is no additional charge to attend these talks beyond regular admission, however seating is limited so reservations are required. (Society members get free admission).
One of the first roads (or more accurately a trail through the woods!) from Dartmouth towards the Eastern Shore was the “Wentworth Road”. Completed in 1792 with great fanfare, it quickly fell into disuse and essentially vanished. This talk will document the search for the original route and suggest that it has been found. Presented by Gordon Hammond.
Regular Heritage Village admission rates will apply when you arrive, unless you are purchasing a Suppertime Meal Ticket
All buildings will be open for a self-guided Evening Tour, just like visiting during the day.
Cancellations: If you have reserved a seat and cannot attend, please email us asap at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 902-845-1937 and confirm your cancellation so others can attend.
Time: 7pm to 8pm (30 min talk with Q&A after)
Fee: Regular Admission Rates apply. Supper options available.
The Cookhouse will be featuring a different Thursday evening meal each week. Rest assured, all of your favourite Memory Lane comfort meals will be in the rotation! Outdoor seating is available by the Dufferin Pond. Supper reservations are required (purchase online or call us to reserve).
The purchase of a meal is not necessary for a Thursday evening visit or to attend the Spotlight Series talks.
