Village Champions Fundraising Campaign

Celebrating Memory Lane Heritage Village's 25th Birthday

Twenty five years ago, on July 1st, 2000, Memory Lane opened its doors for the first time. To celebrate this landmark birthday, we’ve launched a Village Champions Fundraising Campaign to help us continue celebrating the Eastern Shore's coastal heritage well into the future by significantly increasing the fund balance of the Eastern Shore Heritage Preservation Fund.

In 2009 the Heritage Society launched the Eastern Shore Heritage Preservation Fund, which is managed by the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia. The fund currently has a balance of $110,000. In 2024 it generated $9,000 in income to help preserve in perpetuity our:

•   18 heritage buildings housing nearly 6,000 artifacts
•   400 meters of textual records in the Archives
•   5,243 hi-res scans of local heritage photos
•   300+ local audio oral history recordings
•   500 reference files related to the 1940s
•   3,000+ objects in the Artifact Storage Facility

Contributing to the Village Champions Fundraising Campaign will help us grow the fund balance, resulting in a larger sum of annual interest earned each year, well beyond the next 25 years!
