Dominion Day “Old Time” Village Fair

A festive day celebrating the coastal villages of the Eastern Shore. Come see remote controlled model boats in action on the Dufferin Pond. Enjoy a free freshly made donut from our vintage Belshaw Donut Robot, then explore the Village with some traditional 1940s games and races with the kids, or try panning for gold.

10 AM Doors Open, Donuts Await

Hosking Store
Solar Powered Museum – Grand Unveiling
Join us in the Hosking Store at 11:30am for the grand unveiling and the results of our campaign to make Memory Lane Heritage Village the first 100% solar powered museum in Nova Scotia (and possibly Canada)

Outside the Store
Enjoy a fresh-made donut from the vintage donut robot

In the Cookhouse 
10am-3pm (See menu below)
Meal tickets can be purchased in the Hosking Store.

On the Grounds (All day, when bell rings)
Sunday School Games/Traditional Relays on the Playing Field
(three legged race, potato sack, scavenger hunt)
(will happen whenever the school bell rings and enough children assemble)

In the Garage
Lachlan the Magician will perform throughout the day.
Be prepared to be amazed at his slight-of-hand.

In the Clam Factory
Model Boat Display by the Maritime Ship Modelers Guild

By the Boat Shop
Make your own paper boat
Sail a balloon and rubber band boat, available for purchase from the Hosking Store

On the Dufferin Pond
Remote controlled model boats will sail on the pond all day

In the Schoolhouse
Write a love letter to Canada on a vintage typewriter
Create your own flag
‘What’s it’ Artifact Game

Outside the Barn
Learn how to wringer wash

Mine Camp
See the machines working
Hunt for minerals in the rock pile
Gold panning demonstrations (10:30, 11:45 AM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM)

Workshop/Shingle Mill
See the Shingle Mill and Blacksmith in action

Please Note: Memory Lane Heritage Village has free-roaming farm animals on site and does not allow pets within the Village grounds.
